The rules of the workspace.

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of hippocampOS, including its public website, authenticated app, named brains, connectors, direct imports, memory and search features, AI processing, Model Context Protocol (MCP) endpoints, billing, documentation, and related services.

By creating an account, authorizing a connector, importing content, starting a subscription, invoking a brain, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these terms and acknowledge the Privacy Statement. If you do not agree, do not use hippocampOS.

hippocampOS is a private context and memory workspace. It helps you create named brains, connect sources you choose, import text and files, derive searchable memories and facts, retrieve context, and make that context available to supported AI clients that you authorize.

A named brain is a product scope for its connected sources and memories. Master Brain is an explicit aggregate view across your eligible brains. You are responsible for choosing the appropriate brain and checking the scope before importing, searching, or invoking content.

The service may evolve. We may add, modify, limit, suspend, deprecate, or discontinue features, connectors, providers, models, limits, or interfaces to improve the product, maintain security, comply with law or provider requirements, manage risk, or operate the service.

hippocampOS is not directed to children under 13. You must be legally permitted to use the service and able to enter these terms. If applicable law requires a parent, guardian, employer, or organization to authorize your use, you represent that the required authorization has been obtained.

You must provide accurate account information and use only accounts you are authorized to control. Access may require approval, an invitation, an active trial, or an eligible paid plan.

You are responsible for securing your identity-provider account, connected-provider accounts, devices, sessions, API keys, credentials, and authorized MCP clients. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account except to the extent caused by our breach of these terms or applicable law.

When you connect Gmail, Google Photos, Notion, Fireflies, Otter, Granola, or another supported source, you authorize hippocampOS to access, store, process, and use the data made available through that connection for the user-facing functions you request and as described in the Privacy Statement.

Gmail access is read-only. Google Photos uses the Picker permission and imports only items you select. Other connectors may require an OAuth grant, API key, or account credential and may make pages, transcripts, summaries, participants, metadata, or related records available to hippocampOS.

You may connect only accounts, workspaces, meetings, messages, files, and other data that you have the right to access and process. You must follow the connected provider's terms, privacy rules, acceptable-use requirements, and organizational policies.

Third-party providers control their own services and may change permissions, APIs, availability, retention, or pricing. Revoking provider access normally stops future collection but does not automatically delete information already imported into hippocampOS.

Freeform, ChatGPT Memory, Claude Memory, and similar features let you submit text, formatted notes, images, PDFs, documents, or files directly. You are responsible for reviewing what you submit, selecting the correct brain, and avoiding secrets or third-party information that you are not authorized to process.

You retain ownership of your source content, files, prompts, and other material you provide. You grant hippocampOS a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, copy, process, transmit, display, transform into memory records, and create operational derivatives from that material only as needed to provide, secure, maintain, support, and troubleshoot the service for you.

You represent that you have all rights, notices, consents, and permissions needed to connect, upload, import, process, search, and disclose your content through the service. You remain responsible for the legality, accuracy, and consequences of that content.

If you authorize Claude, ChatGPT, or another compatible MCP client, that client may list eligible brains and receive memory results or source context returned under the scopes you approve. Master Brain can return context across multiple brains.

You are responsible for the external client's account, workspace, prompts, recipients, retention settings, and subsequent use of context received from hippocampOS. The client's provider terms and privacy controls apply after information is disclosed to that client.

Keep authorization prompts, codes, tokens, and client credentials confidential. Revoke access when a client, device, workspace, or account is no longer trusted. You may not attempt to expand MCP scopes, call non-public tools, or bypass ownership, plan, or brain boundaries.

hippocampOS may use OpenAI, Anthropic, or another configured provider for extraction, categorization, summarization, embeddings, query analysis, search answers, recall answers, file processing, and related workflows. Provider and model availability may vary by plan, configuration, task, and operational status.

AI-generated summaries, facts, categories, relationships, search answers, and other outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, stale, or unsuitable for your purpose. Derived memories do not replace the original source.

You are responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on or sharing them, especially for legal, medical, financial, employment, safety, compliance, or other high-impact decisions. Do not use hippocampOS as the sole basis for decisions that materially affect a person's rights, health, safety, finances, employment, housing, education, or access to essential services.

You may not use hippocampOS to violate law or rights; access, collect, or disclose data without authorization; impersonate or deceive; harass or exploit; conduct unlawful surveillance; distribute malware; compromise accounts or infrastructure; facilitate violence or abuse; or create material security, privacy, legal, or operational risk.

You may not sell or broker Google user data, use it for advertising or retargeting, use it to determine credit-worthiness or for lending, or use it for another purpose prohibited by Google policy or applicable law.

You may not probe or exploit vulnerabilities without written authorization, reverse engineer protected portions of the service, scrape or automate access outside supported interfaces, overload systems, evade rate or plan limits, tamper with metering, interfere with workers or queues, obtain another user's memories, or bypass authentication, authorization, brain scope, deletion safeguards, or provider restrictions.

You may not upload or process content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, publicity, contractual, or other rights. We may investigate suspected abuse and preserve or disclose information when reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, providers, or the public, subject to applicable law.

Plans, prices, billing cycles, limits, included features, and eligibility are shown in the product or applicable offer. Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe and may be offered monthly or annually. By starting a paid subscription, you authorize the recurring charges shown at checkout until cancellation.

You can manage eligible payment methods, invoices, subscription changes, and cancellation through the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation normally stops future renewal and takes effect as reflected in the billing portal or at the end of the current paid period. Deleting content or ceasing to use the service does not by itself cancel a subscription.

Invitation trials are time-limited, may be restricted to the invited email address, and do not require a card unless an offer expressly says otherwise. A no-card trial does not automatically become a paid subscription. When a trial expires, access to plan-gated functionality may stop until you select an eligible plan.

Unless the checkout, offer, or applicable law says otherwise, charges are due in advance and non-refundable. You are responsible for applicable taxes, payment-provider terms, and accurate billing information. We may suspend paid features after failed, reversed, disputed, or fraudulent payment.

We may change plans, prices, features, and limits. We will provide notice of material paid-plan changes when required. Continued use of a renewed subscription after an effective change constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.

Plans may limit brains, connectors, stored records, storage, processing volume, searches, MCP access, AI tokens, sync frequency, or other resources. Displayed usage figures may be delayed or approximate while processing completes.

You may not create multiple accounts, manipulate jobs, retry mechanisms, or connector state, or use automation to evade limits. We may throttle, defer, reject, or stop work that exceeds plan limits, threatens service stability, or creates unexpected cost or abuse risk.

The Privacy Statement explains how hippocampOS collects, uses, discloses, protects, retains, and deletes information. The Security page describes current product and technical safeguards and expressly identifies security claims we do not make.

No online service can guarantee perfect security. You acknowledge that authorized connectors, AI providers, MCP clients, and other third parties receive information under their own terms and controls, and that internet transmission and storage carry inherent risk.

You may stop using hippocampOS at any time. You can delete eligible brains in the product; deleting a brain removes its scoped content, connector state and credentials, and associated processing work. The product requires at least one brain in an active workspace, so deletion of the final workspace or account must be requested through the available support or privacy channel.

Revoking a connector or deleting hippocampOS data does not delete the original content in the source provider and may not delete copies already disclosed to an AI or MCP client. Deletion and retention are handled as described in the Privacy Statement.

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access if we reasonably believe your use violates these terms, exceeds authorized access, creates risk, violates law or provider requirements, threatens security or stability, remains unpaid, or exposes us or others to liability.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and dispute-related provisions—will survive.

hippocampOS, its software, interfaces, visual design, documentation, trademarks, and service content—excluding your content and third-party materials—are owned by or licensed to the hippocampOS operator and protected by applicable law. These terms grant only the limited right to use the service while your access remains authorized.

If you submit feedback, suggestions, connector requests, or ideas, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use them to operate and improve hippocampOS without obligation or compensation, provided that this does not grant us ownership of your private source content.

The service may be unavailable because of maintenance, incidents, provider outages, network conditions, capacity, security response, or events outside our control. Sync, processing, search, and deletion operations may be queued and may not complete immediately.

We do not guarantee that every connector, provider, model, feature, preview, or integration will remain available or compatible. Features marked beta, preview, experimental, coming soon, or similar may change or be removed and may be less reliable.

hippocampOS is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and security.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, permanent availability of any data source, successful ingestion of every record, recovery of deleted content, or that AI outputs, memories, facts, beliefs, search results, usage figures, or third-party data will be correct or complete.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, hippocampOS and its operators, affiliates, service providers, and contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, loss of opportunity, or loss of goodwill.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to use hippocampOS in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless hippocampOS and its operators, affiliates, service providers, and contributors from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, losses, judgments, and reasonable expenses arising from your content, connected sources, use of the service, violation of these terms, or violation of law or third-party rights.

We may update these terms as the product, providers, plans, risks, or legal requirements change. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice where required. Continued use after the updated terms take effect means you accept them to the extent permitted by law.

The effective date at the top identifies the latest published revision.
